Automatic app updates available for Android, iOS and macOS devices on 17th of June, 2021

Updated on June 17th, 2021

Here’s a short summary of the new features and improvements released today.

Application update policy

Keeping your applications updated is important but it can be quite laborious. To address this, we have added a new configuration profile Application update policy for Android, macOS, and iOS. With the new profile, you can enable automatic updates for the apps installed via the managed Google Play, Apple App Store, or Apple Business/School Manager.

For more information, read how to enable automatic app updates on Android, iOS, or macOS.

Improvements in manual device enrollment

We did small changes to simplify the manual device enrollment process.

First, we added a QR code to the enrollment wizard on the Enroll device page. Instead of typing in the enrollment credentials on the device, you can now simply read a QR code to get started with the enrollment. The QR code is now available in the enrollment wizard when enrolling non-DEP associated Apple devices or Android devices using the light enrollment.

Secondly, we added a checkbox Send enrollment by email to the enrollment wizard. With this option, administrators can disable the sending of the enrollment email in case they are enrolling the device by themselves.

For more information, read how to enroll Android, iOS, or macOS devices manually.

Resolved issues

  • The Safari: disable autofill option (in the iOS > Restrictions configuration profile) was broken.
  • The Marketing name column was always empty on the Retired devices page.
  • Users could not upload an Android application's APK file to Miradore if certain special characters were used in the file name.
