Patch management for macOS
In our latest release, the macOS patch management feature is available for our customers who seek to employ effective security practices and want to ensure patch compliance for their enrolled Mac devices.
The macOS patch management feature enhances the overall security and performance of the enrolled Mac devices, and it helps IT administrators to stay on top of the challenging task of keeping the devices up-to-date with installing the latest patches in a timely manner.
Keeping on top of all OS patches and a selection of the third-party application patches is made easy with the macOS patch management feature of Miradore. This feature enables IT admins to monitor the patching status of the devices in their inventory and to make sure that all the enrolled devices have the latest critical and important patches installed.
Patch management is available for devices running the following macOS versions:
- Catalina (macOS version 10.15)
- Big Sur (macOS version 11)
- Monterey (macOS version 12)
- Ventura (macOS version 13)
- Sonoma (macOS version 14)
The macOS patch management feature offers reporting, pilot testing, blocking of unstable or unwanted patches, and most importantly, automation of patch deployment.
To start patching your Mac devices, change the installation rule type that is set Do not install patches as a default (Management > Patches - Installation settings). You can also define the device scope for patching. We recommend configuring a pilot group for testing the patches before deploying the patches to all devices.

- Asset generation has been improved for Apple hardware inventory handling.
- The UI texts of the Enrollment Wizard page have been updated for Android devices.
- The Setup guide has been updated with macOS patch management.
