What’s new in Miradore Management Suite 5.8.0

The September release includes several updates to patch management, a recommended update to the WithSecure Elements connector, the ability to add prerequisite packages to software package updates and other improvements and bug fixes.

Patch Management and self-service portal
- Security patch status info now visible in the Self-service portal
- End-user can now see available patches for the asset
- Patch installation can start from Self-Service portal
Flexible Scheduling for Patches
Users now can set custom delays for maintenance windows and automation tasks. This makes it possible to schedule scenarios such as “patch Tuesday plus two days”.
Additional Patch Management improvements
- Building off the feature released in MMS 5.7.0, users now have full support for scanning and downloading patches directly from the internet.
- Users can now see what patches are currently being installed from the asset’s patch inventory.

- Users can now filter the security patch status by patch view using ”asset groups” and ”% installed”.
- To improve the performance of the patching process, some randomization is added for the client scheduler.
New connector: WithSecure Elements
WithSecure (previously F-Secure) released a new Elements API and deprecates the F-Secure PSB connector. Since the API for the PSB connector will be deprecated soon, we advise updating the connector to the WithSecure Elements connector.

Prerequirement packages for software packages
Users are now able to include prerequirement packages in an active software package. The reboot can be configured for the prerequirement package installation.
MMS web service API
- Added EndpointBackupReportByDevice-item which gives a report of endpoint backups by device.
- Added Superseded-attribute for the Patch-item.
- Ability to hide patches via API. Added Hidden-attribute for the Patch-item.
- Added LinuxKeyboard-item as a child to an asset for reporting/updating Linux assets' keyboard layout.
- Added ModelText-attribute for the Asset-item.
