Miradore, the Finnish configuration management company, has been nominated for InformationWeek magazines Startup 50 project. Running this spring, the project recognizes innovative and compelling IT startups offering business-related products and services. Miradore was proposed for the project by Microsoft Finland.
Visitors to InformationWeeks website first nominate and vote for their favorite startup. InformationWeek editors then run the companies through a vetting process before publishing the InformationWeek Startup 50 in the spring. The companies that make the final list are profiled and analyzed in the same issue.
The technologies, and the companies behind them, are evaluated on three criteria. Firstly, their level of innovation and ability to inject new ways of doing things into business processes is assessed. Secondly, their value reflected in lower costs, increased sales, higher productivity, or improved customer loyalty is reviewed. Finally, enterprise-readiness is judged to ensure that the product or service is scalable and can be deployed and managed as necessary by IT professionals.
Its great that Miradores innovation is being recognized in this way, says CEO Paul Palojärvi. This is a major, worldwide competition that will strengthen the global awareness and success of our technology, as well as spur us on as we work toward becoming a de facto standard management tool for managed service providers, he continues.
Through the Microsoft BizSpark program, we have been working closely with Miradore as they create and deliver innovative solutions for their customers, says Mika Okkola, Director, Developer and Platform Evangelism at Microsoft Corp. This nomination is well deserved for all of their great work in the managed services space.
