Updated on May 12th, 2023

The Device data security dashboard widget shows the device data security level on the managed Android, iOS, and macOS devices. Windows laptops are excluded from this report.

High security

The android data security is considered high when the passcode is set, storage card encryption is enabled and the device does not have a storage card.

Notice:

At the moment, Android devices' data security is considered either Low or Unknown, because Miradore Online Client doesn't collect inventory information about whether the device has a removable storage card inserted. We're currently working on an improvement to collect the storage card inventory information.

iOS data security is considered high when the passcode is set and storage encryption enabled.

macOS devices' data security is considered high when full disk encryption is enabled.

Medium security

This applies to Android devices only. Android data security is medium when the passcode is set, storage is encrypted and the device has a storage card inserted.

Whether there is a storage card in the device is meaningful because it depends on whether the storage gets encrypted. Miradore Online Client doesn't gather inventory information about the encryption of the storage card regardless of its encryption settings.

Low security

Android data security is considered low when the passcode is not set or storage encryption is either disabled or not supported.

iOS data security is considered low when the passcode is not set or storage encryption is disabled or not supported.

macOS devices' data security is considered low when full disk encryption is disabled.

Unknown security

Android data security is considered unknown when there is no status information about the device's passcode or storage encryption available in Miradore Online. Android security is also considered unknown if the passcode is set and storage is encrypted, but if there is no information on whether the device has a storage card or not.

iOS data security is considered unknown when there is no status information about the device's passcode or storage encryption available in Miradore Online.

macOS devices' data security is considered unknown when it is not known whether the device's disk encryption is enabled or not.

Unsupported

Windows laptops are not supported in this dashboard widget.
