Miradore client update on Android, enabling widgets for work apps, bug fixes and improvements

Updated on January 16th, 2026

Miradore client update on Android

We updated the Miradore client app for Android devices to version 2.17.10 (Build 459). This version is required for successfully applying the following changes to Android devices:

  • Enabling app widgets using a Restrictions configuration profile on devices enrolled with a Work profile or as Fully managed with work profile.
  • Accessing applications removed from a blocklist.
  • The message dialog can now be removed from Recent apps on Samsung devices.

We recommend you update the Miradore client app on your managed devices to version 2.17.10 (Build 459).

Enabling app widgets on Android devices enrolled with a Work profile

You can now use a Restrictions configuration profile to enable app widgets on your managed Android devices that have been enrolled in Miradore with a Work profile or as Fully managed with work profile. This features requires updating the Miradore client to the latest version on your managed devices.

The Work profile widgets option, available under the Work profile tab of the Restrictions configuration profile wizard, enables you to allow or deny device users the ability to create and place widgets on the home screen for applications that are available in the work profile.

This option is denied by default and can be enabled by deploying a Restrictions configuration profile on the devices with the Work profile widgets option set to Allowed.

For more information on the Restrictions configuration profile, see Restrictions for Android on Fully managed devices and devices with a Work profile.

Bug fixes

Applications unavailable after being removed from a blocklist

We fixed a bug where system applications and Managed Google Play applications removed from blocklists remained unavailable on the device even after the app was removed from the blocklist and the Restrictions configuration profile was redeployed.

This bug fix requires updating the Miradore client to the latest version on your managed devices.

Business policies with a large number of items cannot be opened

We fixed a bug where business policies with a large number of items could not be opened in Miradore and resulted in an error.

Improvements

Message dialog cannot be dismissed on Samsung devices

We improved the behavior of the Miradore client message dialog on Samsung devices.

Previously, messages from a Miradore site administrator received through the Miradore client could leave an entry in Recent apps that remained or reappeared after closing. Now, when the user selects OK, the dialog closes and is moved to Recent apps, where it can be dismissed as expected.

This improvement requires updating the Miradore client to the latest version on your managed devices.
