MSP Portal: License management

Updated on October 15th, 2025

Available from the sidebar for Owners and Admins, the License management menu lets you manage your Miradore sites' licenses.

Requirements

The following are required to manage licenses:

  • You must have an Owner or Admin role in the MSP Portal.
  • The sites must be set up with the monthly invoice payment type.
  • When transferring licenses between sites, the sites must have the same subscription plan, license price, and currency set up.

Transfer licenses between sites

To transfer licenses between your Miradore sites, do the following:

  1. Navigate to License management and select Transfer licenses.
  2. Select the sites between which the transfer takes place as well as the quantity of licenses to transfer:
    • Transfer from: choose the site from which you want to remove the licenses.
    • Transfer to: choose the site to which you want to add the licenses.
    • Quantity: choose the number of licenses to remove from the site in the Transfer from field and add to the site in the Transfer to field.

Result: The Licenses after transfer section shows a preview of the transfer action. This section shows the following information:

    • The sites the licenses are transferred from and to.
    • The number of licenses available on both sites after the transfer.
    • The number of licenses in use on both sites.
    • The sum of all licenses (available and in use) allocated to the sites.
    • The number of transferred licenses.
  3. Select Complete transfer to finalize the process.

Results: The number of licenses allocated to both Miradore sites changes and the next invoice is issued accordingly. The number of licenses can be checked on the Sites page.

Purchase licenses

To purchase licenses for your company's Miradore sites, do the following:

  1. Navigate to License management and select Purchase licenses.
  2. Select the site for which you want to purchase licenses from the Purchase for drop-down list.
  3. Select the Quantity of licenses to purchase.
Note: If the site previously had no license amount set but had devices enrolled, the number of licenses to purchase is automatically set to the number that balances out the difference and you cannot set it to less.
Result: The Licenses after purchase section shows a summary of the following information:

    • The new total number of licenses and the new number of available licenses.
    • Current estimate: The estimated price of the licenses that are being purchased.
    • Added licenses: The number of licenses that are being purchased.
    • Added cost: The cost of any additional licenses above the minimum number of licenses to purchase.
For example, if the site previously had no license amount set but had 20 devices enrolled, and you are planning to purchase 30 licenses, the Added cost row shows the price of the 10 additional licenses above the 20-license minimum for that site.
    • Estimated total: The total estimated monthly cost of licenses with the new license count for the site.
  4. Select Complete purchase to finalize the process.

Results: The specified number of licenses are added to your Miradore site and are available for allocation. The Event log on the License management page shows the details of the purchase event. The cost of the newly purchased licenses will be added to your next monthly invoice.

Decrease licenses

If you have more licenses available than what your Miradore sites need, you can decrease their number on the License management page. To decrease the number of licenses for a Miradore site, do the following:

  1. Navigate to License management and select Decrease licenses.
  2. Select the site whose licenses you want to decrease from the Decrease from drop-down list.
  3. Select the Quantity of licenses to remove from the site.
Note: The number of licenses cannot be decreased below the number of devices enrolled on the site.
Result: The Licenses after decrease section shows a summary of the following information:

    • The new total number of licenses and the new number of available licenses.
    • Current estimate: The estimated price of the licenses that are being purchased.
    • Decreased licenses: The number of licenses that are removed from the site.
    • Decreased cost: The amount of money saved by decreasing the number of licenses.
For example, if the site has 30 licenses assigned but only 20 devices enrolled, and you are planning to decrease the number of licenses by 10, the Decreased cost row shows the cost of those 10 licenses that will be removed from your site.
    • Estimated total: The total estimated monthly cost of licenses with the new license count for the site.
  4. Select Decrease licenses to finalize the process.

Results: The specified number of licenses are removed from your Miradore site and are unavailable for allocation. The Event log on the License management page shows the details of the decrease event. The cost of the decreased licenses will be removed from your next monthly invoice.

The event log table on the License management page shows details related to license management actions.
