MSP Portal: Automatic top-up

Updated on January 22nd, 2026

You can choose to enable automatic license top-up for the Miradore sites connected to your company from the Company menu. With this feature, a pre-defined number of licenses are automatically added to a site if the number of available licenses falls below the number of enrolled devices. The automatically added licenses are added to your next monthly invoice.

Once enabled, automatic top-up affects all Miradore sites belonging to your company, but the number of licenses to be assigned is defined per site. After enabling automatic top-up, you can define the number of licenses to be added to your sites.

Prerequisites

Automatic top-up can only be enabled if all of your sites are set up with the monthly invoice payment type and belong to a single site group.

Enable automatic top-up

To enable automatic top-up, do the following:

  1. Choose from where to enable automatic top-up in the MSP Portal:
    1. Navigate to the Company page and select the pencil icon to edit the Automatic top-up option.
    2. Navigate to the Sites page and open a site's dashboard. On the Automatic top-up tab, select Enable automatic top-up.
  2. Read our automatic top-up policy and terms and accept them by selecting the checkbox at the bottom of the text, then select Confirm.
  3. Optionally, define the recipients of an email notification when license top-up is triggered for a site, that is, when the number of licenses falls below the number of enrolled devices.

Results: The value of the Automatic top-up option changes to Enabled. The event log on the License management page shows that automatic top-up has been enabled for your sites and displays the number of licenses defined for automatic top-up.

Manage email notifications

Enable email notifications

When automatic top-up is enabled on the Company page, the Top-up notification recipients field becomes available. This field allows you to define a list of users who should receive an email notification when automatic license top-up is triggered for a site.

To define the recipients of the email notifications, do the following:

  1. After enabling automatic top-up, select the pencil icon to the right of the Top-up notification recipients field.
Result: The Edit notification recipients menu appears on the right sidebar.
  2. Enter the recipient's email address in the Add new recipient text box, then select Add, or choose recipients from the Select from owners list by selecting their checkboxes.
Note: The Select from owners list only shows users who have an Owner role in the company. In the Add new recipient text box, you can define the email address of any user, regardless of whether they have a user role in the MSP Portal. This means you can enable email notifications for external stakeholders as well.
  3. Select Save.

Results: The selected email addresses are listed in the Top-up notification recipients list on the Company page. The selected users receive an email notification when automatic license top-up is triggered for a site.

Disable email notifications

You can disable email notifications for users previously added to the top-up notification recipient list by doing the following:

  1. On the Company page, select the pencil icon to the right of the Top-up notification recipients field.
Result: The Edit notification recipients menu appears on the right sidebar.
  2. To remove a recipient from the Selected recipients list, select the bin icon to the right of the email address.
  3. Select Save.

Results: The user is removed from the notification recipient list and no longer receives email notifications if automatic top-up is triggered for a site.

Define the top-up value for a site

When automatic top-up is enabled on the Company page, the top-up value for all sites is set to the minimum value, 5, by default. The value can be adjusted for each site individually, in increments of five.

To change the top-up value of a site, do the following:

  1. In the MSP Portal, navigate to the Sites page and open the page of the Miradore site for which you want to configure the top-up value.
  2. Navigate to the Automatic top-up tab and select Edit.
  3. Set the Quantity of the Automatic top-up value to the desired number.
  4. Select Save.

Results: The Auto top-up increment column of the site list table shows the new value. Additionally, the event log on the License management page shows that the automatic top-up increment has been adjusted for your site and displays the number of licenses defined for automatic top-up.

Example:

A Miradore site has its top-up value defined as 5. There are currently 2 licenses available on the site and 4 new devices are being enrolled. Upon automatic top-up being triggered, 5 licenses are added to the site, out of which 4 are currently in use and 3 remain available.

Disable automatic top-up

  1. In the MSP Portal, navigate to the Company page.
  2. Select the pencil icon to edit the Automatic top-up option.
  3. Select Confirm on the right sidebar.

Results: The value of the Automatic top-up option changes to Disabled. The event log on the License management page shows that automatic top-up has been disabled for your sites.
