Apple Business

Updated on May 4th, 2026

Apple Business Manager was launched in 2018, integrating Apple Volume Purchase Program (VPP) and Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE, previously DEP) into a single platform. In 2026, the platform was renamed to Apple Business.

What is Apple Business?

Apple Business is Apple’s own web portal where IT administrators can see Apple devices and app licenses purchased by their organization and assign the devices for remote management.

What are the benefits?

When used together with an MDM solution, like Miradore, Apple Business can automate the initial setup and configuration of Apple devices. Automation saves hours of manual work especially if your organization has a large number of devices. You can also make the MDM enrollment mandatory and deny users from unenrolling the device from remote management which both are very effective theft-deterrent features.
