You can temporarily exit the home screen configured through the Home screen only or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration types of the Home screen & kiosk mode configuration profile. After turning the screen off and on again, the configuration is reactivated and the home screen layout is reset according to the configuration profile.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites are required to temporarily exit the home screen or kiosk mode:
- Allow window creation: If a Restrictions configuration profile is deployed to the device, the Create windows option in the Fully managed category must be set to Not set or Allowed. If the option is set to Denied, the Actions dialog cannot be opened on the device.
- Security code: The device user must know the security code in order to exit the home screen or kiosk mode. If a Static security code was configured in the configuration profile, the device user can either use the static security code or the device's security code to exit the home screen or kiosk mode. If a Static security code was not configured, only the device's security code can be used.
Differences between the static security code and the device security code
The following table shows the differences between a static security code and a device's own security code:

Change the static security code
The static security code for the Home screen only or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration types of the Home screen & kiosk mode configuration profile can be changed in the configuration profile's settings as follows:
- Navigate to Management > Configuration profiles and open the configuration profile's page and select Edit at the bottom of the page.
- On the Settings tab, update the Static security code in the Home screen settings table and share the code with your device users.
Note: The Static security code does not expire.
Find the device’s own security code
- Navigate to Management > Devices in Miradore and open the page of the device that you want to exit the home screen on.
- On the Main tab, find the Security code in the Miradore client table and share it with your device user.
Note: The device's security code automatically regenerates every 30 days.
Temporarily exit the home screen
- Select the
icon in the upper-right corner of the home screen of the device to access the Actions dialog.
Note: The Actions dialog lets you manually synchronize your device with the MDM server as well as temporarily exit the home screen. - Select Exit home screen temporarily.
- Enter the Security code and select Confirm.

Result: All apps are visible in the app drawer as if there was no configuration profile applied to the device.
