Miradore enables you to set up IMAP accounts for the Samsung Email application using Miradore's managed app configuration settings. With this configuration, you can preconfigure email accounts for your users, ensuring consistency in settings.
Requirements
To configure IMAP accounts for the Samsung Email application, the following requirements must be met:
- Managed Google Play must be configured for your Miradore site.
- The devices must be Samsung devices running Android 9 or later.
- Email account details must be specified in advance for all device users receiving the configuration deployment.
Steps
- Add Samsung Email to your applications in Miradore as a managed Google Play app.
- Add a new managed configuration to the Samsung Email application or select an existing one to modify.
- Add the IMAP/POP3 Email accounts list setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Select Add in the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email accounts list setting and add the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Select Add in the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Account name setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Enter a display name for the account in the Value field of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- Optional: Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Account password setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select Email accounts > [Email account name as set on the Users page] > Incoming server password.
Result: The Value field is automatically populated. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
Attention: For enhanced security, avoid storing user passwords in Miradore.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select Email accounts > [Email account name as set on the Users page] > Incoming server password.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Email address setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select User > Email address.
Result: The Value field is automatically populated. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select User > Email address.
- Optional: Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Outgoing password setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select Email accounts > [Email account name as set on the Users page] > Outgoing server password.
Result: The Value field is automatically populated. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.

- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select Email accounts > [Email account name as set on the Users page] > Outgoing server user name.
Result: The Value field is automatically populated. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select Email accounts > [Email account name as set on the Users page] > Outgoing server user name.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Protocol setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Value drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select IMAP.
- Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Receiving port setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Enter the IMAP port number that matches your server's security settings in the Value field of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Receiving security settings setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Value drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select SSL.
Warning: Only use the SSL (Accept all certificates) setting for testing purposes, as it poses a security risk. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- From the Value drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select SSL.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Receiving server name setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Enter your organization's IMAP server hostname in the Value field of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Sending port setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Enter the SMTP port number that matches your server's security settings in the Value field of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Sending security settings setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Value drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select TLS.
Warning: Only use the TSL (Accept all certificates) setting for testing purposes, as it poses a security risk. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- From the Value drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select TLS.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the Sending server name setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- Enter your organization's SMTP server hostname in the Value field of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard.
- Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
- Expand the IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration setting and add the User name setting to the configuration by selecting the
icon on the right.
- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select User > Email address.
Result: The Value field is automatically populated. - Select Add, then Close to exit the wizard.
Result: The configuration of the Samsung Email application is set as IMAP/POP3 Email accounts list > IMAP/POP3 Email account configuration, with the following settings and their corresponding values:
- Account name
- Account password
- Email address
- Outgoing password
- Outgoing user name
- Protocol
- Receiving port
- Receiving security settings
- Receiving server name
- Sending port
- Sending security settings
- Sending server name
- User name

- From the Select variable drop-down menu of the Add managed property to application configuration wizard, select User > Email address.
- Deploy the application to your managed Samsung devices.
Results: The Samsung Email application is available on the managed Samsung devices with the configured settings.
