Disable kiosk mode

Kiosk mode can be disabled either permanently from Miradore or temporarily through the Miradore client installed on the device.

Note: The instructions in this article are intended for the Kiosk mode and Kiosk mode (Knox) configuration profiles. The Home screen & kiosk mode configuration profile is out of the scope of this article.

Disable kiosk mode from Miradore

To disable kiosk mode from Miradore, you must remove the configuration profile from the device.

  1. In Miradore, navigate to Management > Devices and select the Deployments tab.
  2. In the Configuration profiles table, select the Trash icon icon to the right of the kiosk mode configuration profile.

Results: Kiosk mode is scheduled to be turned off on the device.
Tip: If the removal does not appear to proceed, restart the device.

You can monitor the progress of the action either on the Management > Action log page or on the individual device's Device page available under Management > Devices.

Temporarily disable kiosk mode through the Miradore client

If the Miradore client is available to use on the device, kiosk mode can be temporarily disabled through the application's settings by using the security code. Kiosk mode automatically gets enabled again after locking and unlocking the device, or after rebooting.

Requirements

The Miradore client must be added to the Kiosk mode configuration profile as an Additional allowed application and the device user must be able to navigate to it. For instructions, see Kiosk mode configuration profile for Android.

Steps

  1. Open the Miradore client application on the device and select Settings at the bottom.
  2. In the Client status section, select Disable kiosk mode.
  3. In Miradore, find the device's Security code in the Miradore client table on the Main tab of the device's page.

  4. Enter the security code in the text box in the Miradore client application, then select OK.

Results: Kiosk mode is temporarily turned off on the device.
