The Kiosk mode with 1 app configuration type of the Home screen & kiosk mode configuration profile sets the device into single-app kiosk mode, where only the defined application can be used and accessed from the home screen. This configuration type also guarantees that if the application closes unexpectedly, it restarts automatically. Using this configuration type, device users can temporarily exit kiosk mode.
The Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type, on the other hand, lets you configure the home screen layout for kiosk mode devices. In this configuration type, only the defined applications can be used and accessed from the home screen. When this configuration type is active on the device, the device user can exit the home screen temporarily as described in this article.
Requirements
To configure home screen apps for the Kiosk mode with 1 app or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type, the following requirements must be met:
- You must have a Miradore Premium or Premium+ subscription, or an active trial.
- The device must be enrolled in Miradore as a Fully managed device.
- The device must run Android 9 or later.
- Miradore client version 2.12.0 or later must be installed on the device.
- Kiosk applications must be deployed to the devices before deploying the Home screen & kiosk mode configuration profile.
Configuring applications for the Kiosk mode with 1 app or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type
- Navigate to Management > Configuration profiles and select Add.
- Select Android, then select Next.
- Select Home screen & kiosk mode, then select Next.
- Select the Kiosk mode with 1 app or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type, then define the configuration profile settings as desired and select Next.
Note: Additional settings are available for the Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type on the Home screen settings tab. - Select Create to finalize the configuration profile and close the dialog.
- Deploy the configuration profile to the managed Android devices.

Home screen settings for the Kiosk mode with 1 app or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type
The Home screen settings tab contains additional settings for the Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type. The table below describes which setting is available for which kiosk mode configuration type.

Define the applications that can run in the background but do not appear on the home screen. Hidden apps can be opened through other ways, for example, if the app sends a notification and the user is allowed to access the notifications area. Add applications to the field by entering the package name or web app Identifier, then selecting Add. You can remove apps from the list by using the  icon.

This setting is optional.
Enter a 6–24 character alphanumeric code that can be used to temporarily exit kiosk mode on all devices on which the configuration profile is deployed. To exit the home screen on specific devices, the devices' own security code can also be used along with the static security code. If no static security code is entered, only the device's security code can be used to temporarily exit kiosk mode. Note: The static security code remains the same until manually changed in the configuration profile, unlike the device's security code, which regenerates every 30 days. Kiosk restrictions for the Kiosk mode with 1 app configuration type or Kiosk mode with multiple apps configuration type
It is recommended to use these restrictions for devices in kiosk mode instead of using the Restrictions configuration profile.

| Disable system error dialogs | If enabled, the system error dialogs or crashed or unresponsive apps are blocked. In this case, the system will force the closing of the app. |
| Disable screen off timeout configuration | If enabled, this setting forces the screen to stay on, that is, the screen does not turn off by itself. This setting does not remove the possibility of turning off the screen by pressing the power button of the device. |
