This article describes how Miradore users can enable and disable two-factor authentication for their own Miradore accounts. Miradore implements TOTP to provide two-factor authentication.

Please note that users cannot disable the two-factor authentication if Miradore site administrator has made the two-factor authentication mandatory for all users on that site.
How to enable two-factor authentication?
Click your account menu (user icon ) in the upper right corner of the screen and select My settings. Click Enable two-factor authentication action from the page action menu.
Read the provided QR code with your authenticator app to add your Miradore account to the authenticator. If the chosen authenticator does not support reading barcodes you can input the provided code directly into the app. You can use, for example, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, as your authentication app.
Enter the authentication code from your authentication app, and your account's current password, and click Enable to enable two-factor authentication.
You will then see the following screen informing you that the current two-factor authentication is enabled.
The authenticator-generated authentication code is then required each time you log in to your Miradore account.
How to disable two-factor authentication?
Click your account menu (user icon ) on upper right corner of the screen and select My settings. Click Enabled next to Two-factor authentication under the Personal settings section.
Enter your current password and the generated authentication code from the app. Click Disable to remove two-factor authentication from your account.
You should then get the following message informing you that the two-factor authentication has been disabled.
How to remove lost authenticator?
Once enabled an authenticator-generated authentication code is required each time you log in to your Miradore account. If you lose your phone or authenticator start Lost your authenticator? during login. Enter your Miradore account login name (same as your email) and follow the instructions. You will receive a link to your email address where you can remove the authenticator and disable it from your account.
The second step is getting the authenticator removal link sent to your email address.
You will then shortly receive an e-mail with the link to remove the two-factor authentication from the account.
The third and final step informs you that the process has been completed.
