How to add your devices  

The process begins when you buy a device from Apple or an authorized reseller and attach it to your Device Enrollment Program account. After this, the device is automatically connected to Miradore and once you assign an enrollment profile to it, it’s ready to ship out, and once it’s pulled out of the box and started, everything from WiFi settings to e-mail accounts to applications is automatically configured and installed.

The approach also works for recycling devices – if one of your employees leaves, you can give their device to a new user by simply assigning it to them in Miradore and wiping it, both of which can be done remotely without physical access to the device. Once the new user receives the device, it is then again automatically configured as per its settings, as if new.

How to configure your devices 

While kicking off couldn’t be simpler, during a device’s life, its purpose for use and the necessary settings may change. With Miradore Online, changing a device’s configuration is as simple as a click or two. Remove the old settings if needed, and add new ones to a business policy attached to the device or device group, and it’ll all be taken care of automatically and with 100% reliability.

In addition to changing various configuration settings, we also allow you to manage your devices’ applications. In fact, if you want to prevent your users from installing any bandwidth consuming or insecure apps themselves, you’re able to do that by disabling app installations altogether. And best of all, Miradore Online supports Apple’s Volume Purchasing Program, enabling you to install and remove both your paid apps as well as free apps to your DEP devices silently, giving you total control of your environment.

How to safely remove your devices 

According to the GSMA, the average useful lifecycle of a handset is 7 years, but users in developed countries change their devices every year and a half. Unfortunately, users don’t always take perfect care of their devices. Hardly surprising when you consider that the main advantage of a mobile is that it’s always there with you. What’s more, Apple, as the main innovating force in the mobile device industry, keeps on releasing new models. So within a few years, even if your old mobiles aren’t physically broken, they’ll be considered obsolete.

At this point, all you have to do is a click or two to remove the enrollment profile you assigned a couple of years back and wipe the device. If it’s started after this, it works as a normal, unmanaged iPhone or an iPad would, allowing it to find a life beyond the veil, perhaps as a toy for your hard workers’ children.
