Addressing three main IT challenges
University of Hamburg Marketing GmbH (UHHMG) found itself in need of mobile device management to address three main IT challenges:
- Quickly viewing device health and status
- Tracking repair history of the devices
- Locating and locking lost devices
All devices are owned by the organization and all setup and maintenance is performed by the admins. For the organization’s approximately 45 employees, UHHMG has about 30 iPhone 7’s (in supervised mode with DEP) and 10 Dell Latitude Notebooks. The mobile phones are primarily used for business trips and work from home/abroad, while the laptops are used for events, home offices, business trips, and presentations.
User-friendliness and a great price-performance ratio
UHHMG evaluated other MDM providers but ultimately selected Miradore. They find it is easy to use, with very strong documentation; they also like that Miradore has a very good price-performance ratio. The IT team points out the quick, helpful support they have received, and the dashboard reports for administrators are clear and intuitive.
"Miradore is easy to use and has strong documentation. It also has a good price-performance ratio."
UHHMG saves an hour per device setup
With Miradore, UHHMG now saves about one hour per device setup. The IT team is tracking damages and repairs and finds it easy to see the status of the device, even when the device user changes. This was sometimes confusing without Miradore, notes the IT team.
UHHMG now also has the possibility of assigning different roles and device groups (with tags) to sub-admins. For the iPhones, the IT team configures the devices easily through Apple MDM.
Today, the organization uses Miradore for:
- Custom reports of device usage
- Notifications via email about important device incidents
- Restrictions and customization with mandatory configuration profiles
Furthermore, Miradore is hosted at Microsoft Azure in Germany - another aspect that satisfies UHHMG’s needs and meets all GDPR requirements. If a device is lost or stolen, UHHMG can make sure all data is deleted and the device is unusable.
UHHMG also likes how new features are rolled out frequently. This indicates to them that Miradore is under active development.
