Achieving full control of devices
In connection with the GDPR project initiated in 2016, Attendo, the largest private provider of care services in the Nordic region, realized the need for an MDM solution. Attendo chose Miradore’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform to secure their 2,000 mobile devices. With the solution, they can now protect the information in mobile phones and tablets and ensure the operation of critical safety alarms.
"We had two main objectives: to protect our devices in a way that meets the requirements of GDPR, and to ensure the functionality of our safety alarms."
Oskar Hägglund, IT Manager at Attendo
Ensuring the functionality of safety alarms
Safety alarms are critical to Attendo’s operations but before introducing Mobile Device Management (MDM) there were several issues that affected the functionality.
“Safety alarm that is on a user’s arm sends a signal to a dedicated mobile phone when activated. However, sometimes the mobile phone’s data plan had been exceeded or the phone had accidentally been set to flight mode, which could have had life-threatening consequences,” explains Hägglund.
This major challenge was solved with Miradore’s Mobile Device Management, which makes it impossible to make unwanted changes on mobile devices. Attendo now has full control of their devices and can secure the functionality of safety alarms.
Getting started fast and easily
Ronnie Afzelius, CEO of Afzelius Informationsteknik AB and the partner who is working with Attendo, points out that starting with Miradore’s Mobile Device Management was fast and easy.
The team was able to set up the devices remotely and automatically without having to collect phones and tablets. Afzelius also highlights the ease of creating reports that give everyone a good overview, including how much of the plan’s data has been used.
As an additional benefit, Afzelius mentions security, since the solution makes it possible to force the user to create and use a pin code. The solution can also find lost devices regardless of their model and wipe the devices remotely.
“In all new phones the solution is in place from the very start. It also means that iPhones can no longer be rendered useless because a user has entered their own Apple ID and then left the company, or in any other way made it impossible for us to unlock it. Whatever model, we can now wipe the phone and use it again,” continues Afzelius.
Strong cooperating makes a difference
Hägglund and Afzelius both mention the importance of strong cooperation.
“Miradore’s technicians in Finland and Sweden were helpful. It is a big advantage that there is a Swedish organization that can handle issues and makes quick decisions. We’ve received a good response for change requests and Miradore is listening closely to their customers, which is great,” concludes Afzelius.
