Streaming instead of DVD, cloud instead of server room - many business models have changed fundamentally in recent years. A similar change is also emerging in corporate IT: devices are no longer just sold as hardware, but delivered as a complete service. This model creates flexibility and reduces long-term commitments.
Device as a service in practice
Brodos, a German provider of mobile hardware and services, is pursuing this approach with its DaaS+ concept. The aim is to manage the complete lifecycle of mobile devices in a structured manner - from provision to replacement. This allows companies to decide for themselves whether they want to purchase individual services such as MDM licenses or use a comprehensive managed service model from a single source.

Flexibility as a basis for partners
A Device as a Service model places special demands on license management. Equipment inventories change, customers increase or reduce their staff, so billing models have to be correspondingly flexible.
Brodos also relies on Miradore as a platform for the management of mobile devices. Since the launch of the MSP portal in 2018, it has been continuously developed, particularly in the area of license management, to provide partners with greater transparency and room for manoeuvre.
The central functions include:
- Flexible license adjustment: Licenses can be added or removed individually.
- Automated top-up: If the booked number of licenses is exceeded, the system adjusts automatically and informs the partner by e-mail.
- Transparent structure: These functions are part of the Miradore partner model with monthly billing.
- Data export: License and usage data can be exported as .csv and processed in third-party systems, for example for reporting or customer billing.
These functions support Brodos in efficiently deploying its DaaS+ model and at the same time reacting flexibly to customer requirements.

A Partnership Built on Collaboration
In addition to the technical implementation, the close coordination between Brodos and Miradore plays an important role. Through collaboration with Annegret Weigelt and Justin Papke, practical requirements were integrated directly into the further development of the MSP portal.
The result is a solution that simplifies the administrative processes for Brodos and supports the scalability of its service offering.
Device as a Service requires flexible processes in the background - especially in license management. The collaboration between Brodos and Miradore shows how the technical platform and service concept can complement each other to support MSPs in the implementation of modern device models.
