Nearly every organization wants to protect data and devices from both unauthorized access and destruction. Miradore can be an important building block in this regard.
Therefore, we have established a dedicated security section in the Miradore blog, where we regularly report on current security incidents. These reports are of course only excerpts but are intended to raise awareness on this topic.

With Android, it is critical to use an operating system version (OS) that continues to
receive current security updates. As of May 1st 2026, these are all versions from version 13 onwards. Furthermore, it is important to ensure that your devices’ patch level is up-to-date. This is displayed in the format "2026-04-05".
You can find this information in Miradore directly under Devices -> Double-click on the device. Additionally, this data can be retrieved collectively in a report.
If you use devices that qualify for updates, the first prerequisite for a secure operating system has been established. However, it is important that these updates are actually installed on the devices. As always: Make sure that all end devices are regularly powered on and registered in the MDM. A configuration profile for system updates can support this. If updates for end devices are available but not yet installed, this is also displayed clearly in a widget in Miradore:
However, this is often where the challenge lies: Not every device receives the necessary updates throughout its entire lifespan. Depending on the manufacturer, there are
different approaches:
Google: Guarantees updates for a defined period for all Google devices.
Samsung: Offers its own device series with the Enterprise Edition that promises extended update periods. Optionally, Samsung also offers paid additional software that some of our customers use when precise update control is required.
Other manufacturers: Some offer update options via OEMConfig app. However, there are also manufacturers that provide security updates for certain devices only in conjunction with an additional license.
Therefore, it is important to pay attention to these manufacturer-specific details when purchasing hardware.
TL;DR
Every day, new security vulnerabilities in operating systems are discovered. Miradore can help you identify affected devices early and close these security gaps efficiently. However, three factors are critical:
- Complete Management: All devices in use must be registered in the MDM.
- Connectivity: Devices should be online as often as possible to receive updates.
- Manufacturer Support: It must be ensured that the manufacturer provides appropriate updates for your models and that you have the necessary permissions (e.g., licenses) to obtain them.
